Erno Rubik was born on the 13th of July, 1994 in Budapest, Hungary during World War II. His mother was a poet and his father was a flight engineer.Rubix claimed that he was inspired by his father in many interviews. Rubik studied sculpture at the Technical University in Budapest and architecture at the Academy of Applied Arts and Design. Whilst he worked as a proffesor of design at teh Academy, he pursued his love for geometric shapes.

How the Rubix Cube came to be:

As Rubix was pursuring is hobby of geometric shapes, he made a prototype of the now world famous Rubix cube. It consisted of 27 seperate blocks and it took him around one month to acctually solve the whole entire puzzle! The Rubix cube proved useful in helping teach algerbraic group theory and Hungary started to market it in 1997, and in 1980 it started marketing world wide.

Family:

Erno Rubik's Wife is Agnes Hegely. He has 4 children, Agnes, Anna, Erno Jr., and Szonja. Rubix has also writtten 2 books called Rubiks Cube Compendium and Cubed: The Puzzle of us All.
